BEACON MUTUAL RECEIVES NATIONAL WELLNESS AWARD

May 23'rd-At the 12th anniversary breakfast of the Worksite Health Awards, The Beacon Mutual Insurance Company received top-level awards from both the Greater Providence Chamber and The Wellness Councils of America.

The worksite health awards breakfast was attended by 420 employees from the 83 companies in Rhode Island that received awards. Beacon Mutual chairman of the board, Carl Hayes, accepted the exemplary level award on behalf of all the Beacon staff.
     
WELCOA’s Platinum Award represents the pinnacle of results oriented worksite wellness programming that links health promotion objectives to business outcomes. Only 23 organizations nationwide have met the rigorous standards of the platinum well workplace. Beacon was proud to accept the award for the first Platinum Well Workplace in Rhode Island from WELCOA.

In Beacon’s continuous search for effective and innovative ways to reduce work place injuries, studies have shown that healthy workers get hurt less often.

We hope by earning these awards, we can continue to demonstrate to other Rhode Island businesses that we are committed to our “Serious About Safety” slogan,” said Hayes. “We will continue to encourage businesses to adopt wellness loss prevention tools to reduce Workers’ Compensation costs.”
