In 2006 we conducted actuarial reviews of all our safety groups. After taking into consideration the impact of the 2006 rate reduction, the projections for 2007 did not support expiring discounts programs. As a result, some of our previous safety groups have disbanded, while others remain as a service group in order for us to continue to provide group loss prevention services. Each year an analysis and filing with the Department of Business Regulation will be made on each group to determine if the criteria have been met to remain a safety group. Safety and service groups for 2007 are listed below:

Rhode Island Builders Association Safety Group 1 (RIBASG1)

. Industry type: contractors (residential and light commercial)
. Common effective date of October 1st - open enrollment
. Must be a member of RI Builders Association
. Group credit of 25% with additional loss sensitive credits up to 15%
. Additional eligibility criteria must also be met including:
-Experience modification of 1.25 or less
-3-year loss ratio of less than 65%
. Entry requires RIBA Board approval
. Group Shared Earnings Plan 

Rhode Island Marine Trade Safety Group (RIMTA)

. Industry type: marine-related industry
. Common effective date of July 1st
. Group credit of 15%
. Must be a member of the Rhode Island Marine Trade Association
. Group Shared Earnings Plan

Safety groups and Service groups continue to represent a sizable customer base for both of us and require some specific procedures. If you have any questions on these groups please call the individuals listed. 

Manufacturers Comp Group of Rhode Island, Inc. (MCGRI)

. Industry type: manufacturing or wholesale distribution related
. Common effective date of January 1st
. Group credit of 30%
. Additional eligibility criteria must also be met including:
-Experience modification of 1.25 or less
-3-year loss ratio of less than 65%
-Maximum premium threshold of $150,000 at time of entry
-Minimum premium threshold of $10,000 at time of entry
-Safety programming in place
. Entry requires MCGRI Board approval
. Group Shared Earnings Plan

Rhode Island Builders Association Universal Safety Program (RIBAUSP)

. Industry type: contractors (residential and light commercial)
. Common effective date of October 1st
. Spring-board to RIBASG1
. Must be a member of RI Builders Association
. Group credit of 15% with additional loss sensitive credits up to 15%
. Additional eligibility criteria must also be met including:
-Experience modification of 1.25 or less
-3-year loss ratio of less than 65%
. Beacon will review all applicants for admission
. Group Shared Earnings Plan
