Reporting an Injury – Next Steps

If you are injured at work, you should report your injury to your employer and seek medical attention if needed. Your employer will then report the claim to Beacon Mutual. Once reported, your employer will receive the assigned claim number, which you may need for medical professionals who will treat your work-related injury. Make sure to tell your treatment providers that your injury is work-related.

If you have an injury that causes you to be disabled for more than 3 days, you will be contacted by our claim experts who will ask you for more details about your injury. They will explain the worker’s compensation claim process to you and answer any questions you might have. Claims which involve medical treatment only are handled directly by medical treatment providers and are paid by Beacon.

You should not be billed for any work-related medical treatment. If you receive any bills for your work-related medical treatment, please notify your employer right away and provide them with the bill. Your employer should send the bill to Beacon Mutual for processing. You or your employer can contact our claims department at 401-825-2667 for further instructions. If you lose more than 3 days of work and have not heard from us, please contact our claims department at 401-825-2667. Ask for a claims expert who will explain the claims process to you, work with you to gather more information, and communicate with your employer.
