Over 85% of all collisions are due to driver errors. Motor vehicle accidents (MVAs) continue to be the leading cause of occupational fatalities. Participants completing the course will receive a course certificate from the National Safety Council.

The National Safety Council Defensive Driving program will provide participants with various defensive driving techniques designed to prevent collisions and avoid violations. Current driving issues such as driving distractions, the “fatal four”, and aggressive driving are discussed. Other topics include definition of preventable collision, common driver errors, proper following distance, split second decisions and defensive driving in adverse conditions.

This class is designed for employees who drive passenger cars, pickup trucks and minivans. It is not intended for individuals who are driving with a commercial driver’s license.
