Hand and power tools are a common part of our everyday lives and are present in nearly every industry. These tools help us to easily perform tasks that otherwise would be difficult or impossible. However, these simple tools can be hazardous and have the potential for causing severe injuries when used or maintained improperly. Special attention toward hand and power tool safety is necessary in order to reduce or eliminate these hazards.

This seminar is designed to present to employees and employers a summary of the basic safety procedures and safeguards associated with hand and portable power tools.

Topics will include:

  • Keeping tools in good working condition with regular maintenance
  • Using the right tool for the job
  • Inspecting of tools prior to use
  • Using tools in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions
  • Preventing hazards associated with power tools
  • Wearing personal protective equipment needed when working with tools

The seminar comprises training that will help identify proactive steps to avoid or eliminate tool related hazards.
