The State of Rhode Island established the Safe Patient Handling Act in 2006. This law requires hospitals and nursing facilities to developed programs with the goal of reducing manual lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and residents. Using the OSHA and RI Safe Patient Handling outlines, along with other sound ergonomic principles, this webinar will investigate several key components that go into developing a comprehensive safe patient movement program.
